For retirees who enjoy an afternoon of companionship.
Our club was established in 1988 as Titirangi Ladies' Probus Club. Subsequently, in 2014, we joined newly-formed "New Zealand Friendship Inc.", known as NZFI.
New Zealand Friendship (NZFI), unlike many service clubs, has no community service obligations as most of us have 'been there done that'. We come together simply for fun, fellowship and friendship.
Several times a year we have organised outings to places of interest in the Auckland area. Usually, we hire a bus and there is a charge to cover this. In the past year we have visited the Polish Museum, the Rescue Helicopter and Coast Guard Centre, the Transport Centre at Smales Farm and the Puhoi Cheese factory.
The criteria for membership is simple: we look for 'retirees who enjoy an afternoon of companionship'.
Membership fees are an initial $10.00 joining fee plus $20.00 and subsequently $20.00 per year.
Our club meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 1:30pm at the Iona Presbyterian Church Hall at 38 Donovan Street, Blockhouse Bay.
The usual format of our meetings involves first, a brief, club business session followed by a mini- speaker, then our main speaker. After our meeting we socialise over afternoon tea.
If you require further information please call or simply come to our meeting. A warm welcome awaits you.
